I can finish an 8oz packet all by myself if I\u2019m reading a book, watching a movie or even writing. A few days ago, my little daughter had me buy some and politely asked us all if we\u2019d like a few. She and I love sweets so I knew how hard it was for her to even ask. While her dad and sister refused, I extended my hand out to her and she placed a single piece of that candy on it.<\/p>\n<p>A few seconds later, I was begging for more, and each time, I felt her work harder and harder on her frustration. She\u2019s been taught to share and sharing with mama is supposed to be special. But I bet she was wondering why mama didn\u2019t realize that it was her candy and seriously, mothers are meant to have more control over their cravings.<\/p>\n<p>Later, I asked her what she thought because I always do that. I like to talk to my children and get their perspective on a seemingly worthless issue.\u00a0 Not too long ago, I found out that what may seem like a small thing to me, is big for them and like us older people, they seek respect as well.\u00a0 So, she told me that I needed to learn how to share and that I was being greedy. Then she said, \u201cmama, greedy means to want more that you really need.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I agreed. My insatiable desire for that candy revealed a side of me to my 6 year old that I am fully aware of but believe is hidden from others.
